Councilmember AL AUSTIN II

Al Austin II was elected in 2012 to the Long Beach City Council, representing the Eighth District, which includes Bixby Knolls, Los Cerritos and parts of North Long Beach.

Since taking office, Councilmember Austin has focused on promoting strong and safe neighborhoods, and revitalizing the commercial corridors.

The Long Beach Public Library will offer an Overdue Fines Amnesty Program during the month of April, to coincide with National Library Month. Fines will be forgiven for all overdue materials to the Long Beach Public Library.

The Long Beach Airport has scheduled two community meetings to present the scope of the Feasibility Study for the proposed Federal Inspection Service (FIS) facility and to address questions about the study.

The Eighth District Senior Advisory Committee, in partnership with Councilmember Austin's office, launched a new senior activities program in October.
