Background and Experience
Ms. Trotter is a Deputy City Attorney who represents the City of Long Beach and city employees in civil actions, such as: civil rights, employee negligence, and public property liability.
Ms. Trotter joined the City Attorney’s Office in 2019. Prior to her employment with the City of Long Beach, Ms. Trotter worked in private practice as a civil litigator for several nationally recognized law firms, and was recognized by her peers as a Southern California Super Lawyer in 2017 and 2018.
Ms. Trotter is admitted to practice before all the Courts in the State of California, as well as the United States District Court for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
Ms. Trotter received her B.A. from Stanford University where she was captain of the Women’s Basketball team, and obtained her degree in International Relations. She received her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law where she graduated cum laude, was an articles editor for the Pepperdine Law Review, and was a member of the law school’s trial team.
