Background and Experience

Ms. Weesner-McKinley joined the City Attorney’s Office in 2018. Prior to her employment with the City of Long Beach, Ms. Weesner-McKinley worked in private practice at Keesal, Young & Logan where she focused on civil litigation involving employment, maritime, securities and mortgage banking matters.

Professional Affiliations

Ms. Weesner-McKinley is admitted to practice before all the Courts in the State of California, as well as the United States District Court for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Weesner-McKinley is a member of the American Bar Association and Phi Delta Phi.

Education

Ms. Weesner-McKinley received her B.A. from the University of San Diego in Political Science. She received her J.D. from University of San Diego, School of Law, in 2011 where she graduated cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Ms. Weesner-McKinley was a competing member of the University of San Diego’s Mock Trial Team and served as an International Law Clerk at the Lawyers Centre for Legal Assistance in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
