|The City of Long Beach today began accepting applications for the position of Acting City Attorney. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, July 26, 2013. |
The City Council voted earlier this week to establish a process for interviewing candidates for Acting City Attorney, who would serve for the un-expired balance of the current term ending July 14, 2014. Robert Shannon retired from his position as City Attorney on July 2, 2013.
The City Attorney is the sole and exclusive legal advisor of the City, City Council, and all City commissions, committees, officers and employees.
The City Attorney must be a resident of Long Beach, and must be qualified to practice in all the courts of the State of California for at least five years. Additional information about the position and the selection process is available at www.longbeach.gov/hr/employment.
