|On Saturday November 22, 2014, Robert G. Luna will be sworn in as the 26th Chief of Police for the City of Long Beach. The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) will host a town hall meeting to provide an update on air quality issues related to recent odor complaints in the coastal areas of Long Beach and neighboring communities.
Working to meet the national initiative "Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness," the Long Beach Housing Authority and the VA Long Beach Healthcare System will host the 4th Annual Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) owner orientation program. As part of a national effort, this presents an opportunity for property owners and managers to learn about the VASH Program and participate in helping to end Veteran homelessness in Long Beach in 2015.
Part of the "Get Covered, Get Care, Get Renewed" campaign to continue to raise awareness about the importance of enrolling into, using and renewing health care coverage, with a special focus on the health and well-being of California's young adults.
