In November of last year, Councilmember Austin, along with Councilmembers Uranga and O'Donnell, requested a study session to provide information to the City Council on the history and structure of the Airport Noise Ordinance.Long Beach is one of only a few select airports in the nation that is allowed to limit the flights and noise impacts on the surrounding neighborhoods.
Councilmember Austin believes it is important for the new City Council to have this understanding and foundation before it engages in any consideration or discussion requesting a federal customs facility at Long Beach Airport.
EDCO Recycling and Transfer Environmental Collection Center is now open the second Saturday of each month.
Area residents now have a convenient, one-stop venue to safely and properly dispose of their household hazardous, universal and electronic wastes. It's free, and open from 9:00AM- 2:00PM the second Saturday of every month.
