Recycle Your Bicycle – May 5, 2018

The Department of Public Works, Environmental Services Bureau (ESB) is partnering with Mobility Office and Pedal Movement, a local bicycle business, to hold the 2nd Annual “Recycle Your Bicycle” event on Saturday, May 5, 2018. This effort promotes reuse and recycling while encouraging mobility in our Long Beach community.

Residents will have the opportunity to recycle their unwanted bicycles at 5 locations throughout the City, as part of the Long Beach Bike Month activities, on Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. These locations are:

  • Whaley Park: 5620 Atherton St
  • El Dorado Park West: 2800 N Studebaker Rd
  • Admiral Kidd Park: 2125 Santa Fe Ave
  • Houghton: 6301 Myrtle Ave
  • Pedal Movement: 223 E First St

Usable bicycles will be refurbished and donated to local non-profits, who will distribute the bikes to local underserved youth and families, while bicycles or parts that cannot be reused will be recycled.
