Preserve Your Family Photos @ LBPL
The Preserving Community Heritage Project at the Ruth Bach Neighborhood Library helps patrons in the Long Beach Community learn how to digitize and save family photos and share them on social media to build meaningful connections with friends and family.
Simply bring in your images and a USB flash drive during Ruth Bach's Family Learning Center open hours. Staff are trained and on hand to help. Staff can teach you how to save the digitized images to tangible media or the cloud (i.e. Google Drive or Dropbox) and can assist with creating an email account, if necessary to facilitate saving to the cloud.
Checkout this video tutorial for an overview of the process.
LBPL’s Digital Library also includes many resources to assist with your research and lifelong learning goals. Lynda.com and Gale Courses offer tips and tricks for digital and film photography, enhancing and color correcting photos, and tutorials for sharing photos through social media. Ancestry, Archives Unbound, LBPL Digital Archive, and Newspaper Archive feature historical photographs, records, and news articles to aid in historical research. Our friendly staff are on hand to guide you in learning these digital tools.
