How to Use the Long Beach Public Library from Home

With an LBPL card and an internet connection, you have access to a variety of free online resources through the LBPL Digital Library.

eBooks and eAudiobooks: We offer eBooks and eAudiobooks from both Overdrive and cloudLibrary. Children’s eBooks and eAudiobooks are available through Overdrive, TumbleBooks, and TumbleBookCloud Junior. Also check out online magazines at RBDigital.

Streaming music and video: We offer free streaming movies, shows and documentaries at Kanopy, and free streaming music at Freegal.

Education: We have several online learning resources for kids of all ages! Brainfuse HelpNow offers eLearning and live online tutoring. We also have online encyclopedias: World Book Online, Britannica School and Britannica Escolar (Spanish language). Also check out Learning Express School Center and the Testing & Education Resource Center for test preparation, online learning and skill building exercises, and more.

Personal development: Keep your professional skills sharp while you’re stuck at home with these resources: Gale Courses, Brainfuse JobNow, and Brainfuse VetNow.

No card? No problem. We are also offering area residents the opportunity to sign up for a temporary library card over the Internet if you don't currently have one. Temporary library cards will grant you access to Overdrive, cloudLibrary, TumbleBooks, TumbleBookCloud Junior, Freegal, and The New York Times.
