EV Chargers
Electric Vehicle Charger Giveaway Program 4/10/2017

The City of Long Beach is launching an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Giveaway Program as part of the new expedited permitting process for electric vehicle charging stations. Beginning January 9, 2017, the City will be distributing 270 EV chargers free of cost to eligible Long Beach residents who own or lease an electric vehicle.

Beach Streets University 4/10/2017 On April 29th, Beach Streets will be in the Fourth District! There will be music, food, and entertainment at hubs along the route. Grab your bike, skateboard, scooter or just walk on out and join the community in a whole day of fun!
Additional Watering Day 4/10/2017 Beginning on April 1, residents are now allowed to water their property on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This additional watering day will end on September 30.
Cambodia Town Culture Festival 3/22/2017 The 9th Annual Cambodia Town Culture Festival will celebrate the Cambodian New Year on April 2nd at Mark Twain Neighborhood Library. There will be cultural performances, martial arts demonstrations, popular music and dancing Sopheary Band. 

This event is free and open to the public!
Long Beach Port Community Sponsorship 3/20/2017

Do you have an event or a cause that needs to be funded? The Harbor Department provides sponsorship funds to local groups for community functions and events to help inform residents about the Port of Long Beach. The second and final call for 2016-17 applications will end of March 31, 2017. The next call, for early 2017-18, will be September 1 - 30, 2017.

Recycle Holiday Tree Flyer
Recycle Holiday Trees 12/22/2016
There are two easy ways to recycle your holiday tree in Long Beach.  Drop your tree off at one of 12 locations throughout the city. Free drop-off locations will be available December 26 - January 6. M-F: 9 am - 5 pm | Sat & Sun 9 am - 2pm.

If you have City refuse service, put your holiday tree out where your trash is normally collected by 7 am on Saturday, January 9, and it will be recycled.

Native American Heritage Month Celebration 10/28/2016 Councilman Daryl Supernaw invites the public to kick off Native American Heritage Month during a special celebration on Tuesday, November 1, at 4:00 p.m. at the Long Beach Civic Center Plaza.
Flu Clinics
Protect Yourself Against the Flu 9/28/2016 The Health Department will be holding annual walk-in flu clinics beginning October 20, 2015.  Everyone over the age of six months is encouraged to get a flu shot.  Parents are encouraged to bring their children's immunization records.  Some children will require two doses of the vaccine, given one-month apart.
Rock N' Roll in the Park
Rock N' Roll in the Park ft. The Emperors 8/7/2016 The Fourth District is hosting a community event and concert on Saturday, August 25th at Whaley Park from 3 - 6 PM.  There will be live entertainment by The Emperors, and the Long Beach Fire Fighters Association Local 372 will be grilling hot dogs for everyone to enjoy! Come out for an afternoon filled with music, food and fun!

The "100 Days of Summer" is a partnership between the City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine and the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau that brings you unprecedented access to all Long Beach has to offer this summer.

Illegal Fireworks
Fireworks are Illegal in the City of Long Beach 6/22/2016

All fireworks are illegal in the City of Long Beach, and can be dangerous. Even those deemed "Safe and Sane" fireworks and sparklers can be harmful and often result in serious burns, hearing loss and other injuries.

Every year, dozens of professional fireworks shows are held throughout the region, including shows at Alamitos Bay on Sunday, July 3, and at the Queen Mary on Monday, July 4.

Sandbag Saturdays
Sandbag Saturdays 1/12/2016 The Long Beach Fire Department in partnership with Public Works, the Long Beach Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and Long Beach Search and Rescue are excited to announce “Sandbag Saturdays,” a program designed to help our residents how to properly fill and place their sandbags. Come and fill your own sandbags with assistance from CERT & Search and Rescue personnel in the coming weeks. 
El Niño
El Niño Preparedness 12/10/2015 Weather experts predict that strong El Niño conditions exist and these conditions will influence southern California's winter storm patterns. Long Beach should be prepared for frequent and powerful storms from December  through March. The City of Long Beach Winter Storm Team is reviewing and updating response plans.

Winter Concert Series 2015
Winter Concert Series 2015 11/22/2015

Councilman Supernaw is hosting a Winter Concert Series to kick off the holiday season.  Bring your family and friends to "Little Whaley Park" on Sunday, December 6th from 2 - 5 pm. There will be live performances by the Shoreline Symphonic Winds and the CSULB True Brass Band. Hot chocolate will be provided by the Local 372 Firefighter Association!  There will also be a bounce and children activities.

CERT Training
Last CERT Training of the Year 11/13 - 11/15 10/28/2015

The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operation.  

The last training will take place Friday, November 13 through Sunday, November 15.
