Residents are encouraged to report all instances of graffiti, potholes, sidewalk repairs, street sign replacement, and dumped items. Those submitting a report must include, address of nuisance, full name, and contact information to be considered for prizes for most items reported. Residents can submit a report by:

The Kiwanis Club of Bixby Knolls and North Long Beach is holding its annual carnival today through Monday at Houghton Park, 6301 Myrtle Ave., Long Beach. Hours are: Friday, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m - 11 p.m. Monday, 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.  Proceeds go toward local schools, food banks and non-profits.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the first of two Town Hall meetings coming to the "Top of the Town".  Hosted by Councilmember Lerch, this community meeting is a good way to learn more about matters of concern to the 9th District. 

On Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 7:00 p.m., at Ramona Park, 4900 E. 65th St, Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department's Gang Unit will speak to the continuing problem with tagging and other forms of graffiti.  You will learn what the City is doing to eliminate this kind of vandalism and what you can do to help rid your neighborhood of this problem. 


9th District Field Office Hours
The North Facilities Center, in which the 9th District Field office is located, will be undergoing remodeling construction until mid-January, 2005, to make room for the Center for Families and Youth program.  During construction the building will be closed to walk-in visitors.  The 9th District Field office will continue to be staffed part-time, but Council aides will be unable to meet with constituents during regular daytime hours.  Please continue to call the field office at 570-4524 or the City Hall office at 570-6137 for assistance from Councilman Lerch's staff.

Annual Halloween Carnival
The annual Halloween Carnival at Houghton Park will take place this year on Saturday, October 30th, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.  There is no admission cost to the carnival, but for 25 cents per ticket, children can participate in carnival games in a variety of booths inside the tennis court area at Houghton Park.  Parking is available in the lot off of Myrtle Avenue, between Artesia and Harding Streets.  For more information, call Houghton Park at 570-1640.

New Location For NLB PAC Meetings
Effective immediately and until further notice, meetings of the North Long Beach Project Area Committee (North PAC) will be held at the Long Beach Petroleum Club at 3636 Linden Avenue.

Mural Project
A Mural to beautify the south side of the pedestrian tunnel for the 91 Freeway, at Orizaba Avenue, will be going up this summer.
