Over 100 New Trees Planted on East Seventh Street
Newest Addition to East Seventh Street
East 7th Street received 40 new trees in the first part of February, bringing the total number of trees planted along the Second District portion of this corridor to more than 100 in the last year.

This latest group of trees are newly identified locations that required fresh cut tree wells in the concrete. The trees will receive three months of regular watering to give them a healthy start in their new home. This is the latest in a series of projects sponsored by Councilmember Lowenthal in partnership with the East 7th Street Collaborative, breathing new life into the historic corridor. They include pavers in crosswalks, decorative fencing and landscape around the 7th & Temple property and the soon to be opened grocery store and bank under the retro wave roof at 7th & Junipero. Next up will be the East 7th Street Visioning Study expected to begin in April, 2014.
