On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at approximately 12:49 a.m., Long Beach Police responded to the 1200 block of Chestnut Avenue regarding a shooting. 


When officers arrived, they discovered a male adult down on the street who had been struck by gunfire. Long Beach Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Rodrigo Perez Salazar of Long Beach. The motive for the shooting is unclear and the investigation remains ongoing.
