UPDATE: MURDER - 1200 BLOCK OF E. 56TH STREET 11/13/2017 *UPDATE SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY* On Saturday, October 7, 2017, at approx. 12:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to 1200 block of E. 56th Street regarding gunshots heard in the area, which resulted in the death of a male adult, and the injuring of a second male adult.
TRAFFIC FATALITY - WOODRUFF AVENUE & CONANT STREET 11/10/2017 On Thursday, November 9, 2017 at approx. 3:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Woodruff Avenue and Conant Street regarding an injury traffic collision between a vehicle and two juvenile bicyclists, which resulted in the death of one of the bicyclists.
OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING 11/9/2017 On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at approximately 10:05 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Stanley Avenue to investigate a suspicious person incident, which resulted in a male subject assaulting the officer and carjacking a woman’s vehicle, and an officer involved shooting.
L.B.P.D. RECEIVES GRANT FOR SPECIAL TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT AND CRASH PREVENTION 11/3/2017 L.B.P.D. has been awarded a $624,00 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety for a year-long program of special enforcements and publis awareness efforts to prevent traffic related deaths and injuries.

UPDATE: PUBLIC'S HELP SOUGHT IN LOCATING SECOND MURDER SUSPECT 10/31/2017 One of two suspects wanted in connection with the October 10th murders of two male adults at a liquor store at Anaheim Street & Walnut Avenue has been arrested and charged, and the Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the second male suspect and a female person of interest.
