On Small Business Saturday – November 26, 2016 – parking meter holidays will provide free two-hour parking on metered locations at multiple shopping areas in Long Beach, to encourage people to support small local businesses.
“I want to encourage every Long Beach resident to shop local this Saturday and every day,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “Each purchase made in Long Beach helps ensure a healthy and growing local economy and provides funding for our police, fire department, parks and libraries.”
Parking meter holidays will be in effect at the following locations:
• Street parking south of 10th Street in the Downtown, including The Pike Outlets
• Belmont Shore, including street parking and at the six public parking lots.
• The Retro Row Parking lot on Fourth Street at Cherry Avenue.
Read your meter. All the meters involved, with the exception of meters in the Belmont Shore public lots, are smart meters that will display a programmed message about free parking. Meters in the Belmont Shore public lots will be bagged.
Two-hour time limits and all other parking regulations remain in effect.
No matter where you park in Long Beach, the EZparkLB parking app locates available public and private parking citywide. The free app is available at the Apple App Store
and Google Play Store
The first Small Business Saturday was held on Nov 27, 2010. Last year, an estimated 95 million U.S. shoppers supported their neighborhood businesses on Small Business Saturday, according to American Express.
