What We Do
The City's Energy and Environmental Services (EES) Department helps residents, visitors, schools, and businesses reduce, reuse, and recycle right in Long Beach.
EES provides trash, recycling, and organics collection service to approximately 120,000 residential and commercial customers.
Summertime Safety!
Summertime in Long Beach is here! The only thing that should be heating up is the weather, not your trash, recycling, or organics carts. Help prevent fires this summer by following these tips:
-
Drop off hazardous waste items such as batteries, chemicals, motor oil and more at your local HHW site. View the full list of dates.
-
Hot coals, hot risk. Let them cool first!
-
Before you toss anything that sparks, smokes or reacts, take a moment to check the Hazardous Waste 101 webpage for examples of combustibles and no-cost disposal options.
