LONG BEACH – City Clerk Monique De La Garza is working with LBUSD Assistant Superintendent of High Schools, Peter Davis, to register high school students on National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), September 25, 2018. Students and faculty at LBUSD high schools will be hosting voter registration/pre-registration drives for all eligible students who are 16 and older. The City Clerk’s Office is also working with the City Manager’s Public Affairs Team to launch a successful social media campaign for NVRD.
Concurrently, the Mayor’s Office will be coordinating NVRD events at Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College with the March for Our Lives campaign.
NVRD posters and voter registration forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office for anyone interested in hosting a NVRD event.
“We anticipate a large turnout for the Statewide General Election on November 6, 2018 and want to ensure all eligible voters have the information they need to cast their vote on Election Day,” said Monique De La Garza.
