"Our upcoming transition to OneMeeting will offer a more streamlined, efficient and equitable method of preparing for and conducting City meetings while also enhancing the user experience for our residents,” said Mayor Rex Richardson.
With upgraded agenda, minutes and meeting management features, OneMeeting offers end-to-end solutions that fit the growing needs of the City and community while also improving the internal and external user experience. This transition will enhance the City’s overall agenda management process for staff to more effectively manage internal approval and tracking procedures, streamline and automate the Mayor’s appointment process for Boards and Commissions, create a standardized user experience, and increase accessibility. Additionally, the platform will improve language access equity, as community members will be able to translate agendas to Spanish, Khmer, Tagalog and many other languages powered by Google Translate.
The transition will be a phased approach, with the launch of the public online portal and first City Council agenda to be implemented first, followed by additional updates. Once the transition to OneMeeting is complete, Legistar, the City’s current meeting management system, will no longer be utilized for future meetings, but will continue to be used to access agendas, minutes, videos and records from past meetings until everything is successfully migrated to the new system.
Additional information will be provided during the Aug. 22 presentation to City Council and updates will become available on the OneMeeting webpage at longbeach.gov/cityclerk. People with questions about the upcoming changes or the new platform may contact the Office of the City Clerk at 562.570.6101 or CityClerk@longbeach.gov.
