On Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the City Council regular meeting, the Council appointed Monique DeLaGarza as City Clerk. The City Clerk along with the City Manager, is one of two positions the City Council hires directly.
Ms. De La Garza previously held the positions of Assistant City Clerk, Administrative Officer, Administrative Analyst, Assistant Administrative Analyst, and Clerk Typist II with the City of Long Beach. Her 16 year experience has made her the ideal leader to hold the position of the City Clerk.
Members of the City Council commended her devotion to the City and acknowledged DeLaGarza for her years of service. They also demonstrated assurance that she would be a great leader to continue the excellence in leadership the City of Long Beach embodies and strives for.
“I’m honored to be given the opportunity to serve the City of Long Beach,” said Monique DeLaGarza. “I look forward to working with the Mayor and City Council, City Departments, and the community.”
