Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships

The City of Long Beach’s Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships (OHSP) leads the City’s coordinated response to homelessness through strategic planning, interdepartmental collaboration, and community partnerships. As the central hub for citywide homelessness initiatives, OHSP collaborates with City departments, local service providers, government agencies, and community organizations to develop sustainable, long-term solutions. Working alongside the Homeless Services Bureau and other City partners, OHSP focuses on strategy and policy coordination to amplify the impact of direct services while addressing the complex needs surrounding homelessness.

OHSP oversees critical areas, including interdepartmental coordination, policy development, and public engagement. The OHSP team facilitates collaboration among housing, health, public safety, and social service agencies, promoting cohesive solutions that emphasize both immediate responses and preventive measures. Through these efforts, OHSP is building a foundation for a stronger Long Beach where homelessness is rare, brief, and nonrecurring, ensuring that all residents can thrive in a more resilient community.

Established to advance the City’s mission and vision for homelessness, OHSP drives efforts that address both immediate needs and long-term systemic change. To learn more about the formation of OHSP, view the full memo here.
