Connecting with City Staff & Officials
Long Beach welcomes meaningful engagement from international partners, local organizations, and members of the public. If you’re interested in exploring collaboration opportunities, planning an official visit, or learning more about city initiatives, our team is here to support your outreach.
The City of Long Beach operates under a Council-Manager form of government, with the Mayor and City Council serving as the elected policy leaders, and the City Manager functioning as the chief executive responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations.
The Mayor is the city’s official representative and leads efforts around strategic initiatives, policy priorities, and regional and global outreach.
The City Council represents Long Beach’s diverse districts and works to shape policy, approve budgets, and support community needs.
The City Manager oversees the administration of city departments, including the Office of Global Engagement and Protocol.
If you are an international visitor, foreign government representative, or organization seeking official engagement, the Protocol Officer is your first point of contact who will help coordinate communication with relevant city departments, facilitate introductions to key officials, and ensure appropriate protocol is followed.
To connect with our Protocol Officer, Beril Unver, please fill out this form and submit your request to 2028Games@longbeach.gov. If you are requesting an official visit or meeting, kindly include key details such as your organization, purpose of the visit, proposed date(s), and any specific protocol needs. Our Protocol Officer will review your request and follow up to coordinate next steps.
We look forward to working with you to foster enduring international partnership through meaningful collaboration
