International Visitor Resources

The Office of Global Engagement and Protocol has a diverse network of partners who provide a wide range of resources, services, and support tailored to the needs of international visitors and global businesses operating in our region.

  • The Los Angeles Consular Corps (LACC) are the Consuls General and Honorary Consuls that are appointed by their home governments and accepted to represent them by the US federal government. The LACC presently consists of 91 Consulates: 61 Consulates General and 30 Honorary Consulates.

  • The Los Angeles County Office of Protocol (Foreign Consulates ) is tasked with ensuring proper protocol is followed during visits from foreign dignitaries to Los Angeles County. It also serves as a liaison with the Los Angeles Consular Corps, fosters international business, tourism, educational and cultural exchanges across the county, and works to promote cultural awareness and understanding.

  • The City of Long Beach's Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB) consists of Meet Long Beach which sells and markets the City of Long Beach as a destination for conventions, meetings and events. Meet Long Beach employs a team of seasoned sales professionals placed in key markets throughout the United States, as well as administrative and support staff. The sales team pursues major convention business for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center with the goal of generating overnight hotel stays, creating estimated $1.8 billion in economic impact for the city each year.

The CVB also includes Visit Long Beach which markets and promotes the City of Long Beach as a destination for leisure travel, conventions and events using a myriad of strategies to publicize and market the city, including traditional advertising, content marketing, media relations, and robust convention client services.

  • The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center is a modern and stylish facility located in the heart of Long Beach’s downtown waterfront. The Center features more than 400,000 square feet of flexible exhibit and meeting space, two theaters, four ballrooms, an arena and 34 multi-purpose meeting rooms.

  • The Long Beach Airport (LGB) is the coolest transportation gateway to Southern California—well situated halfway between the major business and tourism areas of both Orange and Los Angeles counties. Owned and operated by the City of Long Beach, LGB has three runways and is used by major passenger airlines and cargo services.

  • The Port of Long Beach is the premier U.S. gateway for trans-Pacific trade and a trailblazer in innovative goods movement, safety, environmental stewardship and sustainability. Voted “Best West Coast Seaport” by industry peers, the Port handles trade valued at $300 billion annually supports 2.7 million jobs across the nation, more than 1.14 million in California, and more than 543,000 in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The Port of Long Beach is one of the few U.S. ports that can welcome today’s largest vessels, serving 175 shipping lines with connections to 217 seaports around the world.

  • Long Beach Economic Partnership (LBEP) is a dynamic Economic Development Corporation (EDC) agency dedicated to fostering growth and maximizing the potential of the city. With a collaborative approach, LBEP brings together various organizations to provide essential access, support, resources, and guidance. By addressing the evolving needs of the larger region, LBEP aims to enhance, uplift, and drive economic prosperity for the community.

  • Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) offer the chance for property and business owners to join together to pool funds to be used for agreed upon improvements in their respective business districts. There are nine BIDS in the City of Long Beach that generally offer the following services: business expansion, attraction, and retention, marketing and special events, place making and beautification, public safety and hospitality, and street cleaning and maintenance.

  • The Downtown Long Beach Alliance is a 501 (c) (6) non-profit organization operating on behalf of the tenants and commercial and residential property owners in Long Beach’s Downtown and surrounding areas. It is dedicated to the management, marketing, security, maintenance, advocacy, economic and community development of its two assessment districts in cooperation with the City of Long Beach and the private sector. Our mission is to cultivate, preserve and promote a healthy, safe and prosperous Downtown for all.

  • The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce serves as the catalyst for business growth, a convener of leaders and influencers, and a champion for a stronger community. The Chamber is the platform for business to provide leadership, education and advocacy so that the Long Beach area thrives in the 21st century.

  • The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) is a nonprofit organization focused on equitable economic growth in the Los Angeles region. LAEDC uses research to advance key industries, provide business assistance, collaborate with educational institutions to develop a robust workforce, and provide government officials with economic data to ensure the continued growth of L.A. County.

  • The World Trade Center Los Angeles (WTCLA) and the World Trade Center Long Beach (WTCLB) are dedicated to attracting foreign direct investment and facilitating business opportunities between Los Angeles, Long Beach and international companies. They are non-profit organizations that provide business assistance services to international companies seeking to locate or expand their business operations in the Los Angeles Region and to local companies seeking to export products or services to international market.
