Step 4: Selection
Applicants who successfully pass the oral interview process are invited to participate in a background investigation managed by the Long Beach Police Department. Applicants who pass all aspects of the background investigation phase will have their credentials reviewed by the Director of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Communications. The most qualified candidates will be selected for hire as Public Safety Dispatchers.
