Program Listens To Entrepreneurial Pitches In Long Beach

Release Date: 2018-04-16

By: Stephanie Stutzman

One organization is providing a platform for people to pitch their business ideas and raise an open ear to others.

That platform is called 1 Million Cups, and Long Beachers are now able to sign up and present their developing business plans to an audience of fellow entrepreneurs, neighbors and interested investors.

1 Million Cups is a free program designed to engage and educate entrepreneurs to pursue their ideas and grow their businesses. The pilot kicked off in 2012 in Kansas City, and has since reached 163 communities throughout the United States.

In an effort to engage more residents to not only develop, but also encourage, local entrepreneurs to keep their ideas in Long Beach, the Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA) facilitated a space downtown where a team of organizers would be able to facilitate a 1 Million Cups public meeting every month.
