Cal State Long Beach ranks third best Western public university

Cal State Long Beach is the third best public university in the West, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 Best Colleges report.
The report looks at graduation rates, social mobility such as Pell Grant graduation rates, faculty resources, expert opinion, financial resources, student excellence, standardized tests and more. The U.S. News & World Report rankings come on the heels of a separate ranking that found Cal State Long Beach second in the nation to award bachelor’s degrees to minority students.
“U.S. News & World Reports’ rankings spotlight what faculty and alumni often share with me, that Long Beach State students gain a quality education while earning their degrees,” President Jane Close Conoley said in a statement.
