
Long Beach Unveils new Career Resource Center to Help Job Seekers

Need help writing a resume? Looking for tips on salary negotiations? Or just trying to find some general career advice? Long Beach has the spot for you.
The city unveiled a new career resource center on Tuesday, Nov. 13, just east of the Long Beach Airport. The new building, dubbed “The WorkPlace,” is part of the Pacific Gateway network, a workforce development partnership between Long Beach, Signal Hill and the Los Angeles Harbor communities.
Along with the tools the facility itself offers, like a computer lab to search and apply for online job listings, the center will be home to an array of classes and workshops. A sampling of the offerings available this week include a session on tips for findings jobs online, a class on preparing for an interview and a multi-part workshop on developing a resume.
