Aligning with Mayor Rex Richardson’s priorities, the Long Beach Public Service Corps (LBPSC) fosters economic inclusion and expands opportunities for residents so they can develop successful career paths into public service. Through this fellowship, students and recent graduates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining insights into the inner workings of City departments and contribute to meaningful projects that positively impact the Long Beach community.
Long Beach Public Service Corps is administered by the City’s Economic Development Department’s Workforce Development Bureau, operating as Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network, and funded by California Volunteers, the state office that manages programs and initiatives aimed at increasing the number of Californians engaged in service and volunteerism.
The program is available to:
- Current CSULB or CSUDH undergraduate and graduate seniors
- Current LBCC students completing a career technical education program (CTE)
- Recent graduates of CSULB or CSUDH who reside in Long Beach
Participation in the program will allow Fellows to obtain hands-on work experience, insight into City Government, career development, and more. This fellowship is aimed at individuals who would like to explore a career in public service.
The final deadline for the 2025-2026 application is Monday, June 30th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
