Long Beach Fire Corps Program

The Long Beach Fire Corps Program offers a paid internship opportunity for young adults seeking practical experience with the Long Beach Fire Department and exploring alternative professional training avenues. The seven-month program offers paid work experience, monthly workshops, and specialized training sessions such as CPR certification and CERT training. Interns support various communications-related activities and special events, including the annual Spark of Love Toy Drive and the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Participants will receive $22/hr. for a total of 400 hours. 

Before being accepted, applicants must agree to the following: 

• Commit 12-20 hours a week at their assigned worksite
• Available to attend 1-2 workshops a month. All workshops will be held on a Friday 

Eligibility 

• Must be between the age of 18-30 years old with valid right-to-work
• Priority will be given to applicants who are residents of Long Beach.
