Three existing water fountains are being replaced with new hydration stations that include bottle fillers.
-
Improvements at the parking lot entrance will improve path of travel with an added concrete pad around the existing swing gate and locking post.

Field 5 & 6 improvements include new paint, chain link fence and fabric, wood back boards, dugout benches, netting, sideline fencing, yellow topper pads, and backstop pads.
Background and Scope
The Fiscal Year 2022 State of California budget included a surplus of $75.7 billion. Due to the State Appropriations Limit, certain revenues must be returned to taxpayers through direct payments and education spending. As a result, Senator Lena Gonzalez. Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, and Assemblymember Patrick O'Donnell requested and secured $12,050.000 in allocations for City of Long Beach Park capital improvements. Of the total allocation, $1.2 million was identified for improvements to the youth softball and baseball fields and surrounding area at El Dorado Park. An additional allocation of $1.6 million from the Fiscal Year 2023 State of California budget surplus has been accepted and appropriated by City Council and will be used for phase two of this project.
After the initial grant funds were accepted and appropriated, the City's Parks, Recreation and Marine Department (PRM) began the planning and design effort for the project. PRM met with the Sports Office and Los Altos Youth Baseball and Softball representatives to develop the final improvements.
