Welcome to the Long Beach Energy & Environmental Services
The Energy and Environmental Services (EES) Department brings together the City’s core environmental, resource management and energy functions under one organization. The department manages Long Beach’s collection, recycling and materials management services, helping residents, visitors, schools and businesses reduce waste and recycle right.
EES provides trash, recycling and organics collection to about 120,000 residential and commercial customers citywide. The department also oversees one of the nation’s largest urban oil fields, which produces nearly 8 million barrels of oil each year, and maintains a strong environmental safety record.
