Oil Properties is a bureau in the Long Beach Energy Resources Department.

It manages the City's oil interests and subsidence control measures. As the primary operator in the Wilmington oil field, Oil Properties maximizes oil revenue for the State of California, the City of Long Beach, and Mineral Rights Owners. Oil operations have generated over $450 million for the City and over $4.8 billion for the state, county, and city.

The environment is an important aspect of Oil Properties' duties. The bureau is concerned about oil field disasters and has taken many safety precautions to ensure such events never happen. To date, there has never been a major oil field disaster.
