At 9:21pm tonight,  LBFD units responded to reports of a structure fire at a city owned yard on the 1700 block of San Francisco Ave.  First arriving units reported "heavy fire and smoke through the roof of a large concrete structure" and immediately called for a 2nd alarm assignment for extra resources and manpower.   Once the main body of fire was extinguished, it was discovered that the fire was contained within an old concrete hopper that was filled with rubbish.  The fire was completely extinguished in 20 minutes after an aggressive fire attack.  Access and overhaul operations were difficult given the many layers of combustible material.  No injuries reported and the fire is under investigation.
