2nd Alarm Fire in Virginia Country Club
At 10:22 this evening, LBFD units were dispatched to a house fire on the 4200 block of Country Club Drive. A family of four was home at the time and were able to self-extricate themselves after the smoke alarms sounded on the second floor. First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke showing through the roof of the large, two-story home. A 2nd Alarm assignment was called for additional resources and manpower. The body of fire was primarily confined to the attic and was extinguished after an aggressive 50 minute fire attack. Extensive salvage and overhaul operations were initiated and the family was displaced given the extensive damage to the structure. Fire investigators were called to the scene to investigate the origin of the fire and it remains under investigation.
