Assistant Chief Dave Kean Retires from the Long Beach Fire Department
On Friday, March 18th, Assistant Chief Dave Kean announced his retirement from the City of Long Beach. Assistant Chief Kean has served the Long Beach Fire Department for nearly 32 years. He has worked as a Firefighter, Arson Investigator, Captain, Battalion Chief and has been a member of the Command Staff for the past two years as the Assistant Fire Chief in Operations.
Assistant Chief Kean also served our Country as a pilot in the United States Army Reserve for over 29 years. He served three tours of duty where he was stationed in a combat zone during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Assistant Chief Kean's retirement is effective immediately. The recruitment process to identify his replacement is already underway. Battalion Chief Mike Nadolski will be act as the interim Assistant Chief until Chief Kean's replacement is announced.
We wish Assistant Chief Dave Kean the best in his retirement and thank him for his dedication to the Long Beach Fire Department and to our Country.
