This morning at 4:35 AM, Long Beach Fire Department resources responded to Roycroft Avenue and Ocean Boulevard to reports of a structure fire.

Units arriving on scene found smoke and fire coming from a detached garage.  However, directly above the garage there was an apartment that posed an immediate exposure problem.

The fire was held to the garage and extinguished quickly preventing spread to the upstairs apartment.  There were no injuries to occupants or Firefighters.

The fire is currently under investigation.  The cause of ignition is unknown.
