On Wednesday, September 24th at 8:26am, Long Beach Fire Department Units and the Urban Search & Rescue Team were dispatched to the 3700 Block of Country Club Drive for reports of two workers trapped in an underground electrical vault.  First arriving units discovered two men, 20 and 37 year-old males, conscious but complaining of injury and lying at the bottom of an open electrical vault.  After an hour long technical confined space rescue operation, the two men were successfully rescued and transported with injuries to an area trauma hospital.  The cause of the accident is under investigation.
