Shortly before 5am this morning, Long Beach Lifeguard rescue boats responded to a distress call for service at the Long Beach breakwater.  An 18 foot fishing vessel with 3 passengers aboard collided with the wall as a result of heavy fog and low visibility.  One rescue boat rescued victims that were clinging to the breakwall; while the other rescue boat implemented emergency dewatering operations for the vessel's hull had sustained damage and was taking on water.  The vessel was then towed to the South Shore Launch Ramp by lifeguard resources.  No injuries occurred nor was there any environmental contamination to Long Beach waters as a result of this incident.
