Long Beach Fire Department resources were dispatched at 7:55am this morning to a reported apartment fire on the 1000 block of Loma Ave. First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke coming from a single unit on the second floor of a garden style apartment building.  Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack and were able to contain the fire to a single unit and were able to knockdown the fire in 12 minutes.  The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries reported.
