New Improvements Make Loynes Drive More Bikeable and Walkable

Release Date: 2023-02-01

Loynes Drive is the latest Long Beach street to receive infrastructure upgrades, including new bike lanes. As part of a repaving and maintenance project, Long Beach Public Works is repairing curbs, gutters, and sidewalks along Loynes between Bellflower Blvd and PCH; additionally, the City is installing new signage, curb ramps, and bike lanes.

These improvements connect Loynes to the existing bike network along Bellflower Blvd, providing a low-stress biking connection throughout southeast Long Beach all the way to Bixby Village Dr. This project is part of the City of Long Beach’s effort to modernize its streets with designs that encourage responsible driving and make bicycling and walking convenient for local trips.
