E-Bike Lending Library Rental Application

Through the Long Beach Recovery Act (LBRA) the City of Long Beach will be able to provide short term E-bike rentals to Long Beach residents. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to experience the advantages of active transportation using E-bikes to replace short car, rideshare, or bus trips. Selected participants will be granted a rental term of 3 months max to check out the E-bike and all its features and capabilities within program guidelines.

Applications will be accepted between March 18th, 2024 through April 18th, 2024 for the first round of E-bike rentals. Future rounds will be announced based on interest and availability. 

Participant selection will be based on the following:

1. Applications will be selected through a random lottery style.
2. Two-thirds of recipients will be low-income. Low-income status will be defined by current participation in one of the benefit assistance programs listed below (resident verification required if selected to participate in the program)
3. The model of E-bike requested (based on availability and flexibility).
4. Must be a Long Beach resident (verification required if selected to participate in the program).
5. Must be 18 years of age or older (verification required if selected to participate in the program).
6. Applicants must have basic bike riding knowledge and skills.
7. Applicants must demonstrate they have safe and appropriate locations to store and charge an E-bike.

Applicants who have been selected to participate in the program will be notified by May 6th, 2024.
