Special Events Program

The City administers a Special Event Liability Insurance Program, which addresses the risk management and risk financing needs of the City associated with third parties' short term rental or use of City-owned property such as halls, auditoriums, libraries, streets, parks, fields, and other public areas. This program is available (for application) to permit holders, renters, or event holders who need special event insurance to meet the City's insurance requirements and requirement to name the City as an additional insured with respect to the special event.

A link to the City's Special Event Liability Insurance Application is provided below. Note that application for this coverage does not assure that the applicant will be approved by the insurance underwriters. Also note that issuance of coverage by the underwriter does not release the applicant of its liability with respect to the City. This program is offered merely as an accommodation to the City's Special Event holders in providing another potential source of insurance to meet their Special Events' insurance requirements with the City of Long Beach.
