The Human Resources Talent Acquisition (TA) division
 supports city departments, employees, and applicants throughout the recruitment process for the Unclassified workforce. Strong focus is placed on revitalizing and centralizing key areas of the City’s recruitment and onboarding processes while curating a great candidate experienceThe TA division enforces hiring practices that reflect and align with the City’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. 

We commit to:

  • Fostering a diversified workforce to ensure that the City has the talent and resources needed to provide excellent services to the community.
  • Effectively communicating with the candidates and hiring managers to minimize missed opportunities to recruit great talent.
  • Tracking and reporting on talent acquisition metrics to identify current and future talent needs for the organization.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with external agencies, colleges, vendors, associations, and other bodies who might route talent to the organization or aid in talent acquisition processes.

  • WorkPlace - Pacific Gateway

    The WorkPlace is administered by Pacific Gateway Workforce, a City of Long Beach agency dedicated to workforce development. 

    Pacific Gateway helps jobseekers access career development, training, and job placement resources. Check out their website for more information.
