Long Beach Life
Coast
From the sand to the sea, Long Beach has a myriad of coastal activities. The City's multiple modes of transportation are visible along pathways and shorelines where people can be found swimming, rollerblading, kayaking, and bicycling (both on land and sea)! It seems as though everyone is grooving along the Long Beach coast, including Fido, who can’t wait to get to Rosie's Dog Beach.
Arts
Long Beach is the place to be for art and artists. The city has four museums and an outdoor gallery of over 100+ murals created by international and local artists. The city has an Arts District, where theaters and performers collide, and The Arts Council for Long Beach that helps spread the colors and sounds created by artists throughout the city.
Livability
Long Beach is a place where people come to work, study, live and play. With the many festivals, restaurants, and places to hang out, the toughest decision is where to start! Fortunately, the vast city can be navigated via Bike Share, scooter, foot or public transportation, including water taxi, to get everyone where they’re going safely. After all, there's a lot to do here!
Small Business
Long Beach is buzzing with local businesses such as the beloved coffee roasters where friendly staff is dedicated to their craft. Small local apparel shops bring something new to your closet, often showcasing the city’s name on hats and shirts, and even socks, because of the strong local pride in Long Beach. Especially with the loan assistance program provided by the City's Economic Development Services, local dreams can become reality!
Parks
With the ideal weather in Long Beach, it’s no surprise that residents and visitors enjoy spending days outdoors. It’s so easy to do at the 170 parks and 26 community centers. There’s a park for everyone’s taste where you will find a variety of activities, like public yoga overlooking the ocean, skateparks, and nature walks at El Dorado Park. Programs and events are plentiful and cater to the whole family with recreational sports leagues, outside movies, and plenty of dog parks.
