The following information below provides helpful links to pertinent construction code resources and documents for your reference and use.
- City of Long Beach Building Standards Code
Every three years, Long Beach Community Development (LBCD) is required by State law to enforce the most current edition of the California Building Standards Code to establish uniform standards for the construction and maintenance of buildings, electrical systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems, and fire and life safety systems. - City of Long Beach Municipal Codes

- AB 3002 Business License, Building Permit Model Notice

- California Building Standards Commission (CBSC)
The CBSC periodically distributes general information bulletins and other resources to help clarify issues and resolve inconsistencies in the application of building standards laws and rules. - California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)
HCD protects the health and safety of Californians by enforcing standards for manufactured/factory-built homes. Information Bulletins are periodically issued by HCD to announce changes in laws or regulations. - California Division of the State Architect (DSA)
DSA is given the task of regulating the construction of public schools, essentially serving as the building department for public schools. This link provides many of DSA's publications for download. - State Fire Marshal's Office Code (SFM) Interpretations Committee
The SFM established the Code Interpretations Committee (CIC) to research requests for code interpretations. The CIC meets once a month to review and discuss each code interpretation request, then provide recommendations to the Division Chiefs for final endorsement and approval. - California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI)
HCAI is responsible for the development of administrative regulations and building standards for the construction of hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, licensed clinics and correctional treatment centers in California. These regulations are developed, as necessary, to implement the provisions of the Alfred E. Alquist Hospital Seismic Safety Act of 1983. HCAI's architects, engineers and construction observation staff, the Hospital Building Safety Board, and interested members of the public develop code language for new building standards and amendments to existing standards in the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, California Building Standards Code.
