The Globemaster Corridor Specific Plan (SP-3) is a new commercial-industrial-only specific plan that was adopted by the Long Beach City Council on May 18, 2021. This new specific plan is centered on the former Boeing C-17 manufacturing facility, and the surrounding commercial/industrial corridors of Cherry Avenue and Spring Street. The GCSP will create a 21st Century employment center and multi-modal mobility area in this part ofthe City. The final adopted specific plan can be viewed here:

The Long Beach City Council public hearing on the Globemaster Corridor Specific Plan was held on May 18, 2021. The City Council was the final step in the approval process for the specific plan. The Los Angeles County Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) held a public hearing on March 3, 2021 on the Globemaster Corridor Specific Plan, and found that it was consistent with the County’s Airport Land Use Plan. Follow the link below for the County staff report and findings:

The Planning Commission hearing for the Globemaster Corridor Specific Plan was held on December 17, 2020. The Planning Commission voted to forward the Plan to the City Council with a recommendation to take the necessary actions to adopt the plan.
