Board of Examiners, Appeals & Condemnation

Board of Examiners, Appeals & Condemnation (BEAC) determines the suitability of alternate methods and materials and types of construction. The BEAC provides interpretations of the Long Beach Municipal Code, and administrative review for determinations of the Building Official, substandard housing cases, property maintenance, and public nuisance abatement cases.

Cultural Heritage Commission

Cultural Heritage Commission (CHC) is responsible for recognizing and protecting the City’s historical resources. The CHC identifies buildings and neighborhoods of architectural and historical value, reviews proposed changes to historic properties and makes recommendations for designated landmarks to the Mayor and City Council and Planning Commission.

Meetings: 
The CHC meets on the last Tuesday of each month, at 5:00 p.m., in the City Hall Civic Chamber located at 411 W. Ocean Blvd.

Long Beach City Council Meetings

The Long Beach City Council is the City’s primary legislative body that decides on laws, makes general policies, supervises City government, and appropriates funds for various needs.

Meetings:
The CC meets on every Tuesday of each month (except for the last Tuesday, and unless otherwise noted) at 5:00 p.m., in City Hall Civic Chambers located at 411 W. Ocean Blvd.

Long Beach Community Investment Company

The Long Beach Community Investment Company (LBCIC) administers the City's affordable housing production and rehabilitation programs. The LBCIC advises the Mayor and City Council on the delivery of housing and neighborhood revitalization services, and Community Development Block Grant funding.

Meetings: 
The LBCIC meets every third Wednesday of the month, at 4:00 p.m., in the City Hall 2nd Floor The Beach Conference Room located at 411 W. Ocean Blvd.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission (PC) advises the Mayor and City Council on all matters affecting the development of the City's General Plan, zoning, and other ordinances to guide the implementation of long-range planning.

The PC meets every first and third Thursday of each month, at 5:00 p.m., in the City Hall Civic Chamber located at 411 W. Ocean Blvd.

Zoning Administrator

Zoning Administrator (ZA) hearings are conducted by the City’s Zoning Administrator. Standards Variances, Coastal Permits, Minor Lot Line Adjustments, Legalization of Illegal Units, and Lot Mergers are processed through administrative hearings.

Meetings:
