FLOSSIE LEWIS HOUSE

flossie_lewis

This Victorian single-family house was originally located at 1112 Locust Avenue. It was relocated to a vacant parcel in the Drake Park Historic District and restored. Its special design features include a tall bell-shaped gambrel roof, a bay window, ornamental shingles, ornate porch columns, and stickwork under the gable. Many Colonial Revival features are blended with the Victorian style. The house is named after its previous use as the Flossie Lewis alcoholism recovery center.
