Architect: Edward A. Killingsworth, F.A.I.A.
Ed Killingsworth was a leading innovator of International Style Modernism, and participated in the Case Study House movement. The design was based on a post-and-beam structural system that permitted walls of glass and connections between the inside and outdoors. Killingsworth signature elements are the simplicity and harmony of proportions, the refinement of form, attention to detail, the use of reflecting pools with rhythmic pavers at the entry, and a special sensitivity to site and to landscaping. His later career involved major hotel construction in international locations.
