MATLOCK HOUSE

Architect: Richard Neutra

A single-family home exemplifying Neutra's version of the International Style. Constructed of wood frame and stucco, with high banded windows along the front and walls of glass facing the garden. The flow of spaces between rooms, and between the house and garden, was a major theme in Neutra's work. The roof is low pitched instead of flat, to comply with local building regulations.
