THE WILMORE

the_wilmore

Architect: Fisher, Lake & Traver

This 11-story Renaissance Revival building was originally owned and operated by the Stillwell Hotel Corporation of Los Angels as a luxury apartment hotel. The same architects designed the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. First an "own-your-own," today it is a condominium. Its name was changed from Stillwell to Willmore to honor the man who launched the development of Long Beach. The solarium on the top floor features a series of arched windows and balconies. The elegant lobby evokes the ambience of the past. The building underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation and improvement program in 1991, which included seismic retrofit and repainting.
